lET iT sNOW!!

We woke November 30th to 5 inches of snow! A quick trip to the mall for snow pants and boots and we were snow bunnies, for sure. We didn't count on 5 inches of snow being up to Kyra's knees, though (a little tough to walk). She said she's ready for skis, now!

20 Months Old

That's not a wig, folks! Can you believe she's had several trims in her short lifetime, too!!

Halloween 2008

"Dorthy" made it around the block on Halloween night - enough to stop at the neighbors' and give them high five (Kyra's new favorite social greeting). Toto is a bit shy, but he's in the basket, somewhere! Thanks to Grandma Carol for making the costume!

PowerPuff Girls

Homecoming week brings out the best in the students... er, the teachers at Chiddix Junior High. So, during this "Spirit Week," we celebrated "Super Hero Day." Just how did I get roped into being Buttercup, the tomboy of the Power Puff Girls? Well, I might need new friends! Below you'll see Blossom (Jill Borroughs), Bubbles (Dana Curby), and Buttercup (Kelly) in their cartoon form and the real-life form!

Tanner's Orchard Visit

Kyra recently made her first visit to Tanner's Orchard. The weather was great and Kyra had fun playing. Although feeding the goats was, "Yuck," her first taste of apple cider was "Mmmmmm."

Kyra Sept 2008

Today was Kyra's 18 month check-up... apparently she's a very normal, healthy girl, who talks, and talks, and talks, and talks. She only had to get one shot, which didn't seem too bad... since she cried for 10 seconds, then looked the nurse square in the eye and said, "Ouch!" For being such a trooper during her appointment, she got to enjoy a few M&M's, then had her picture taken. Just what happened to BABY Kyra, anyway?

Kyra's Playground

The former owners of the new house were kind enough to leave a new play set. Kyra seems to be in heaven and could "sing and side" (swing and slide) for hours.

Pudding at Grandma's

Kyra stayed with Grandma & Grandpa Griffith while we moved to the new pad. Kyra claims she had chocolate pudding for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day while at G & G's house!

Packing Up

We've never experienced packing up and moving with an infant. Someone help us out here.... is this the proper way to pack one up?

Buddies

It may be easy to watch this video and say to yourself, "Poor Baker." But he seems to always stick by Kyra's side through the abuse (and what you are seeing is minor). On the other hand, you will never, EVER, be seeing Kyra and Leon in the same shot. Easy to tell which cat has the brains!

New House

Wow, did I take grief for not posting a picture of the new house!! It didn't seem right to stand in the front yard and take a picture while another family still lives there, so below is the picture from the spec sheet from the real estate agent. If you want to see the inside.... well, you'll just have to come visit!!

We're Moving!

The Bordner's are moving!!!!!! After seven years in our first home, we've made the tough decision to move onward and upward! Really, Kyra Monster (and everything that comes with her) has somehow made the walls begin to close in on our small house. Here's the AWESOME part... we sold the house before it officially went on the market... on July 19.... Kelly's birthday! What a birthday gift! Oh yeah, and we BOUGHT a house on July 20.... oh yeah.... and we are moving in two weeks on August 4. We don't mess around with this house buying/moving thing. We are going to have a tough move... we are moving three whole blocks away!

Buckethead

"Quirky" personality..... or just plain "weird?" We'll let you decide. We'll also let you decide from which side of the family this trait comes!

Zoo

Kyra makes friends with a leopard at the St. Louis Zoo! This was by far her favorite animal exhibit. The other animals were just moderately interesting, but in their defense, it was 92 degrees, so they found Kyra (and anything else that was crazy enough to move in that heat) only moderately interesting, as well.

Summer 2008!

Summer 2008 is here! No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks! Kyra spends her time "ow-side" in the pool, at the park, and taking walks with Mom. She's proving to be quite a fish at swimming lessons, too. Kelly is experiencing the rough life by sleeping in and playing with Kyra all day long (it is well known August is just around the corner, so save your breath). Matt plays softball a couple of times a week, golfs when he can, and swims and plays with Kyra every chance he gets. Kyra is such a Daddy's girl!
